The building is neighboring Souq Waqif reflecting the inherent character of the site and intends to revive the history of the surrounding city. Walls in traditional Qatari architecture are articulated as a series of layers; generally in the form of recessed panels and frames, elements that project in and out, these layers tell a story as does the theatre.

The building has minimal setbacks from the street to create a strong urban presence that integrates it with the surrounding streetscape. The arcades create a shaded walkway for pedestrians and cast deep shadows which give expression to both surface and mass. The building includes an Amphitheatre, and hotel which contains a swimming pool, fitness facilities and caffes and restaurants.
